In the wild.
Yet protected. Lake Neusiedl-Seewinkel National Park is home to colossal steppe cattle, rare white donkeys, satisfied Mangalica pigs, majestic white-tailed sea eagles, noble great white herons and more than 340 additional species of birds, some of which are exceedingly rare. This is why ornithologists meet here every year for a big bird-watching event. Feathered friends can not only be spotted in the National Park, however. Many storks also stop in Podersdorf.
At every turn. The steppe-like cultivated land surrounding Podersdorf are quite unique. Salt ponds that periodically dry out here, herding grounds, swampy areas and giant reed fields there. In between, one finds meadows, pastures and - of course - many vineyards whose stocks find perfect conditions in Lake Neusiedl’s micro-climate with its Pannonian influence.
